A Little Indian: 1970’s Indian Enduro 70cc

'70s Indian

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

It’s a puzzle that some of you may wish to piece together! Listed here on eBay and sitting in Elmer, New Jersey with a BIN of $550 or the option to make an offer is this 1970’s Indian Enduro 70cc motorbike.

The seller states that this project is “fully taken apart”. While it would be better if it were still together, at least we can see all the problem areas.

'70s Indian 70cc other parts box

There are some missing engine parts. The seller is including an “engine parts packet”. We don’t know what is included in said “packet” and if it includes all you will need to get the 70cc running. Please contact the seller with any questions you may have.

There is also an assembly guide included, so you maybe “golden” with the parts bin and the literature. Of course, you’ll still have to put it all together, but it could be a fun project.

'70s Indian 70cc seat

The seat is damaged on the front and while it doesn’t look too bad from this angle, it really is bad up front. You will likely have to just replace the entire seat. Seeing damage like this leaves us wondering though what other damage there might be to the important bits.

'70s Indian 70cc tank

The seller says that this is “great for a project”! The seller will ship and points out there are expensive fees for shipping this if you can’t pick this package up locally. If you want a small winter project for under $1K, could this be your next two wheeled ride?

Motor-on,
Robert

That would be fun out here on the ranch. Someone will show it some TLC I am quite sure. Price may be low for a unit this rare.

My dad brought what looked like the same pile of parts, crate and all, home to me and my brothers when we were kids. We never did get it running but just the pile of parts makes me feel 12 again. Someone will have the memories and know how to get it up and going again, cool bike!

Tank alone would look great in the garage!

I think these were brought in by Floyd Clymer. He sold a series of Indian remakes and imported that Munch Mammot, a German made (NSU powered) road bike that cost at least 50% more than a Harley. They were here for a spell then vanished. Hope someone takes this project seriously and does it justice…

I picked up one of these 70cc Indians a few years back at a flea market for $350. They are a lot of fun to tool around in. They are surprisingly fast even with me weighing 250. I’d like to have another but parts are hard to come by, you’d be better off just using this as a parts bike, but I’m sure someone will save this one.
