Amazing Collection: “They’re for Sale, Not on Sale”
Southwest of San Antonio, Texas lies this collection of classic cars and trucks. There is everything from pickups and vans to all sorts of sedans and even some late-model sports cars. The group can be found here on Craigslist with asking prices from $3k to $5k, although some can be up to $35k. It’s hard to tell if this is a private collection or salvage yard since some of the cars look complete and others are missing quite a bit of pieces. The seller says they have titles to some of the cars and others will be sold on a bill of sale. The seller makes it clear that they are FOR sale, not ON sale. Take a look and see if there are any projects you’d like to have and thanks to T.J. for the tip on these cars.
Here is a row of 1940s sedans. Unfortunately, most of the cars seem to have been used for parts with much of the trim missing. Looking at the license plates that are readable in the photos, most of these cars seem to come from the Southwest. Consequently, most of the sheet metal looks very solid with just surface rust.
Here is a really solid-looking mid-50s Ford pickup. You can tell from the front and rear custom brush guards that this truck probably spent much time on a farm or ranch. I’d bet this one probably runs and drives. It looks like a nice project.
Here is a really cool Metro van that has certainly seen better days. This one looks like it has been so stripped down that it may be only good for parts at this point. I’m surprised the grille hasn’t been parted out…It appears to be the best part that is left.
There are a couple of late-model cars in the collection including this Porsche convertible. It looks like a 944 circa 1990. If you know for sure what it is, let us know in the comments.
Here’s a really cool barn-door Ford van. Unlike a lot of the other vehicles, this one hasn’t had the trim removed. The patina is really nice but needs a little TLC. Some new wheels and tires would do wonders for the look. What do you think?

Thanks, but i am all done looking.
You looked, I saw then left.
I think I see one with original air in the tires- they def know what they got!
“I know what my junk is worth! No low ballers allowed!”
Some decent looking stuff.
How much is the Buick wild cat conversation thanks
That got my attention as well.
wonder what i could put on a 08 mustang gt
wow, a great place to buy rust, crap, garbage and scrap metal!
You gotta admit that Ford pickup in pic #3 looks interesting. And theres a Mercedes SL too. GLWTS
His CL ad has a lot of attitude and doesn’t seem amenable to browsers. Hard pass, and I live in SA.
I’ve got that 55 Ford F100. But alot faster!
LT1 crate engine, roller cam, .030 over, B&M Racing 400 turbo, 9″ Ford rear .373 gears.
With his attitude on his description makes you think of Dana Carveys Line:
AREN’T YOU SPECIAL??
Thanks but NO thanks
This guy honestly he is doing everyone a fouvour by allowing us to buy something . There ar too many examples of this stuff around and owned by more personable people than this mad, cranky SOB.
A ’40 Ford Deluxe Tudor with a ’40 Standard hood.
I feel seller will be to difficult to do business with. There are several that caught my eye, but I don’t need the hassle of trying to talk with him on the phone. Seems like his “bottom dollar” is $2000. problem with that is he forgot the decimal point after the first zero!
All I want to know is: Which car is selling for 35K?
My guess is the ’68 B body Dodge…
yep….he’s had them for sale for ever……
Man oh man…….it’s like living in a parallel universe. Up is down. Dirt is gold……..junk is desirable…….no tire kickers……..but. no tires. Next thing you know a reality tv personality and real estate salesman will run for public office.
I’m not put off at all by the seller’s no-nonsense approach. You almost have to come across that way these days. He’s obviously dealt with all the flakes, tire kickers, low-ballers, and scammers you’ll attract CL and is just trying to cover his bases. I’m sure if you present yourself as a serious prospective buyer, he’ll be great to work with.
No he would not
