Auction Alert: Stanley Paurazas Estate Collection
The upcoming auction for the Stanley Paurazas Estate Collection looks to feature a bevy of desirable American classic cars and trucks. There’s no immediate history offered on the background of this collection or how it came to exist, but it seems likely Mr. Paurazas had a taste for nicely preserved driver-quality examples of some iconic American automobiles. Bidding is conducted through an online portal, and has been ongoing since September 10 with a closing date of September 22. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Day for the find. The collection features a wide range of machinery, from engine hoists to motorcycles to boats, and everything in between. I’m always impressed with the families and individuals who acquire this volume of stuff and manage to keep in some semblance of order. Of course, you always wonder in these cases if the heirs are involved in the sell-off, or if the wares are being offered by an auctioneer contacted by the real estate company managing the property of the deceased owner. You certainly hope it’s the former, as some collectors hope to have their collection bring in some money for their family when it’s time to move on. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird comes with both tops and is listed here on the auction website where bidding is over $13,000.
The Pierce-Arrow name may command respect and be among some of the grander entries in the classic car marketplace, but that doesn’t mean they’re all worth big money. This 1934 Pierce-Arrow 1602 Club Sedan is a massive project, but one that will surely be worthwhile when it’s done. It comes with a flathead V8 and manual transmission, along with a clear title. Bidding is dirt cheap on this starter classic, sitting at just over $1,000 with four days left, which makes it likely someone is going to walk away with a steal – that is, if you want to take on a total restoration project of a long-shuttered brand. This is probably my first choice for a project to bid on (if I was bidding): a four wheel drive Ford F100 pickup wearing a great color scheme of white over orange with a V8 engine under the hood. Looking a bit like a patina’d creamsicle, the truck doesn’t run but still looks tough with its lifted stance that helps denote it as a true 4×4. As an added bonus, it has a manual transmission, and doesn’t appear to be all that rusty. There are some great buys to be had there. That ’41 Chrysler Royal Windsor 2 door coupe and ’55 black and red Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hardtop look like bargains. Sure wish I was closer.

That ’59 Ford 4×4 definitely has my attention. The ’60 2WD also would be a nice project to tackle but the 4×4 is what I would prefer to take home. It looks lifted although I remember some out west that were pretty high from the factory. Kind of like the old Y-Block and sure wouldn’t think about putting anything else under that hood…
The Pierce Arrow is either a Straight 8 or a V12.
Collection? more like an accumulation or a yard cleanup.
I dropped in as I saw the greenbriar. A ‘Ramp Side’ would B nice if U need a lill more than a station wagon. The motor gets in the way of many loads but there’s plenty space left, esp for tall loads (never ina wagon – the Lakewood?).
Chevy Van was pretty neat (even in musical lyrics). I lub the 1st gen (a lill different than 2nd). Even more so as they were 1st (w/this and) simultaneously built the 1st gen and this one for a few yrs. (’64/6?) No wonder the others followed. I hada 2nd gen (i6 – 292?) as home/business (“mover” – asa late teen/20something) and got to see alot during the amazing ’60s/early 70s B4 college.
