Why list on Barn Finds?
- Fast Turnaround
We normally launch new listings within a week after submission. - Huge Audience
We have over one million social media and email followers. - It’s Free!
We only make money if we sell your car, so there’s no risk for you.
No Deadbeat Buyers
We require buyers to have a credit card on file before they are allowed to bid or make an offer. We will charge the buyer a premium once an auction ends or an offer is accepted. This helps eliminate the fake bidding that is so prevalent on other auction sites.
No Last Minute Sniping
Getting outbid by only a few dollars at the last second can be very frustrating. To prevent this, we extend the auctions by a few minutes when a last-minute bid is placed. All auctions also have a predefined bid increment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
Sellers pay nothing unless they would like to schedule a professional photographer.
Buyers pay a 5% premium ($500 minimum / $5,000 maximum). This fee will be refunded if the seller backs out.
How long do auctions run?
Our auctions run for seven days.
Can I set a reserve?
Yes, of course. We can help you determine a realistic expectation based on what similar vehicles have sold for recently. No-reserve auctions tend to generate more attention.
Who handles payment?
We only handle the listing. The buyer and seller will make payment arrangements. For high-dollar transactions, we recommend using an Escrow service.
What about shipping?
The buyer is typically responsible for shipping arrangements. We can provide recommendations if needed.
How many photos do I need?
We need at least 50 high-quality photos, but the more, the better!
The first thing you need to do is review our photo guide here. Then go out to the barn or garage and take many photos! We want to see everything. Get multiple shots of the exterior from all sides, engine bay, interior, and trunk. Then crawl underneath and get a few of the underside. Make sure that the lighting is good and the photos are not blurry. The more high-quality photos you provide, the more likely you will to get full market value. We will reject any submissions that do not include high-quality photos and a detailed description, so please take your time and do the legwork before submitting your listing.
What if my car is listed elsewhere?
We ask for two weeks of exclusivity once your listing goes live. We are going to work hard to find you a buyer, and it would be a shame if we found one only to find out that you have sold the vehicle elsewhere.
